There are a few reasons for my silence: r</span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">e-entering the workforce in March 2008 after 1.5 years at home with Piper kicked my ass and left me little time/energy to blog; and </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">I started using Facebook (and reconnecting with tons of long-lost friends) around that time and didn't see the point in maintaining an online presence in more than one spot.</span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><br /></span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">Two years and two jobs later, I am now better able to balance my work life and my home life and have decided that if I am going to fritter away my idle time on the Internet, blogging is a better choice than Facebook. Plus, there are big changes in the works for us - in three days, T and I are buying a new house and relocating our little family unit from the city to the countrified suburbs - and I want a website on which to properly document our adventure. Since the move makes me feel like I am starting over in a lot of ways, it seems like a fitting time to start over with a new blog, too.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">So... welcome to my new space, likely to be a bit different from the one I maintained from 2004 to 2008 (accessible via the handy menu on the right). I am new to Blogger, so it will probably be a while before I figure out how to pretty up the page. I look forward to having fun with it, though, and to being back online in this format.
